PROJECTORS
Relacement Remotes *new 9-15-08
Here is the only place that I can find the replacement 3M remote. The part # we need is 78-8118-9800-2. http://online.projectordoctor.com/s.nl/sc.2/category.9206/.f
When you go to that link, it is the middle item only that you need.
"We are finding that the 3M projectors come set by default to give that message every 100 hours of use. The best thing would be to reset the interval for the message to the greatest # of hours but not to off. I think that is 300 hours. Here are the directions for doing that.
To Reset the Timer:
On the remote, push the Menu button.
Choose the Easy Menu and on that menu choose Filter Time (Here you can reset the timer.)
To Set the Timer to Longer or Off:
On the remote, push the Menu button.
Choose the Option Menu and on that menu go to Service. Under Filter Message you will be able to choose the interval or set to off.
Then when the teachers get that message after the 300 hours, please ask them to let you know. If you will then let Chuck Chupco know, he will send one of the Tech. Op. guys out to check the filter and clean it if need be.
By the way, the projector manual says that every time we buy a new bulb for these 3M projectors that it should include a new filter. I haven't ever noticed that with the other projectors we have in the district, but we've never had 3M."
PENS
"Lannon called tech support and put together the following list to help troubleshoot the 3M pens that you are having trouble with. Please try these things, and if you still see issues, please let me know.
Use fresh batteries
Try the non-functioning pen on another board
Try a working pen from another board on the board with the non-working pen
Trade out the tip of the pin
Check that there are no blocks from the electric eye in the upper left corner of the board to the pen
Turn off the florescent lights in the room and see if the pen works
Make certain no other IR device is active (Turning Points, etc..) -- According to tech support this is a common problem.
Thanks,
Jan"
